Biography
Zafreen A. Siddiqui, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and utilizes her OB background when supervising residents. She is the director of Family Medicine Obstetrics. Dr. Siddiqui completed her residency at Texas Tech University and received a Dean's Resident Award for outstanding professionalism and interdisciplinary cooperation. She received two first place teaching research exhibit and research project awards from TAFP. She also received a certificate of achievement for the highest scores in 2003 and 2004 on In-Training exams at Texas Tech. Dr. Siddiqui served as the President of the House Staff Committee for GME Texas Tech. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and holds several leadership positions at TMA and TAFP as well as serving as a delegate to the AMA House of Delegates. Dr. Siddiqui completed a fellowship in high risk OB at UTMB, Austin, TX. The scope of this fellowship included not only Obstetrics but also women's care in general including high risk OB care for all complicated patients ranging from uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, preterm labor, recurrent abortion etc. Clinical procedures included the following: colposcopy, LEEP, cervical biopsy, endometrial biopsy, infertility clinic, DUB evaluation and treatment. Inpatient service covered labor and delivery including normal, vacuum assisted and forceps deliveries, low transverse, classical C-section, post partum tubal ligation, dilatation and curettage. Due to high patient load at the Sister of Charity Hospital Brackenridge and Austin Women's Hospital, Dr. Siddiqui became highly proficient and independent in performing all the above mentioned procedures in a very short time.
