Aaron Kuntz, M.D.

Biography

Aaron Kuntz, M.D., is a board-certified hospice and palliative medicine physician with a background in internal medicine and additional training in geriatric medicine and quality improvement. His academic interests include expanding access to outpatient palliative care to older adults with non-cancer illnesses and the role of palliative care in transitions of care.

He completed his internal medicine residency with the UPMC Medical Education program in 2019. In 2020, he performed a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin, followed by a two-year advanced geriatrics fellowship at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, which he completed in 2022.

In addition to his board certifications in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Kuntz holds certificates in Biomedical Ethics from NEOMED and from the Harvard Medical School Safety, Quality Improvement, Information, and Leadership (SQIL) program.

Dr. Kuntz's clinical interests include outpatient palliative care for older adults with serious illness, palliative care for patients with neurodegenerative conditions including Parkinson's and dementia, and palliative care for patients with serious respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
