Biography
Adora Tricia Santos, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in traumatic injury and complex surgical critical care.
Dr. Santos earned her medical degree at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, serving as Chief Resident. She gained advanced training through fellowships in acute care surgery and surgical critical care at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and surgical critical care, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Santos is an associate member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and a member of several additional professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
She has presented her research at numerous scientific conferences, published articles in many academic journals related to her areas of expertise, and contributed to the books Emergency General Surgery and Geriatric Practice.

When she is not at work, Dr. Santos enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors.
