Biography

Afsaneh Rezaeizadeh, M.S.N., M.S.W., LMSW, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a highly skilled psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, as well as a licensed social worker with extensive experience in both health care and mental health. She is board-certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing (PMHNP-BC) and holds multiple advanced degrees.

Ms. Rezaeizadeh earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and two graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington—one in nursing practice and the other in social work. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Baylor University.

Before transitioning into her roles as a nurse practitioner and social worker, Ms. Rezaeizadeh served as a registered nurse at Parkland Health, where she completed its prestigious nurse residency program. She later worked with the UT Southwestern Center for Depression and Clinical Care, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and assisting in clinical trials aimed at advancing mental health treatment.

In her current role at the Substance Use Disorders Clinic, Ms. Rezaeizadeh provides comprehensive care that integrates both psychotherapy and medication management. She also serves as the lead psychiatry rotation coordinator for UT Southwestern physician assistant students, mentoring and guiding the next generation of health care professionals.

Her areas of interest include psychotherapy, substance use disorders, adult psychiatry, informatics, research, education, and process improvement.
