Biography
Ahmed Siddiqui, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Siddiqui holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, which he earned with honors, from the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and completed internal medicine residency training at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.
Dr. Siddiqui’s academic and research work spans both engineering and clinical medicine. His scholarly contributions include investigations into retinal blood flow and microvascular dysregulation in glaucoma, as well as studies on aortic dissection and shear stress using in vitro models.
More recently, his work has focused on quality improvement in clinical care, including initiatives to improve insulin prescribing practices at hospital discharge, along with case reports in pulmonary and infectious diseases.
Dr. Siddiqui’s interests include retinal and vascular physiology, cardiovascular mechanics, quality improvement in patient care, and clinical outcomes research.
