Biography

Alba Iliana Smith, D.N.P., APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine – Digestive and Liver Diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Mrs. Smith completed her undergraduate degree at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York, and then earned her master’s degree in family nurse practitioner studies from the University of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx, New York. She went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Smith has worked in gastroenterology, hepatology, and adult general medicine for the past 17 years. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American College of Nurse Practitioners.
