Biography

Alejandro Llanos Chea, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Llanos Chea earned his medical degree at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru and completed a residency in pediatrics at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Illinois. He received advanced training through a pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and a gastrointestinal motility and functional disorders fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric gastroenterology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Llanos Chea is the Associate Director of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Aerodigestive Clinic at Children’s Health. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves on the editorial board of the journal Frontiers in Pediatrics.
