Biography

Alessandra Storino Gonzalez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in colon and rectal surgery.

Dr. Storino earned her medical degree at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. She completed a residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and gained advanced training through a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Storino joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Her clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, rectal cancer, and reoperative pelvic surgery.

She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association. She has delivered presentations, contributed to the book Operative Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
