Biography
Alex Jones, M.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Jones earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He is completing a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern, where he serves as a Chief Resident.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Jones’ clinical interests include gastroenterology, hepatology, and medical education. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Psi Chi Honor Society.
He is currently conducting research with a focus on liver transplantation and risk stratification of pancreatic cysts. He has delivered presentations and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Jones enjoys skiing, hiking, visiting national parks, golfing, and cooking.
