Biography

Amber Hix, M.S.N., APRN, AGPCNP-BC, is a board-certified adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine – Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research Clinic at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of West Florida in Pensacola and earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Before working as a nurse practitioner, she was a registered nurse in medical, surgical, and cardiovascular intensive care units. She is a passionate patient advocate and strives to educate and empower her patients to make the best decisions to meet their health goals.
