Biography
Anjali Garg, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is a dedicated academic hospitalist with a deep passion for patient care, medical education, and health care improvement.
Originally from India, Dr. Garg pursued her medical education there before expanding her training in New York. She spent nearly a decade practicing in Houston before moving to Dallas to be closer to family.
Her approach to medicine is centered on compassionate, patient- and family-focused care, particularly for the geriatric population. She enjoys navigating the complexities of their medical and social needs while also leading efforts to optimize perioperative management and streamline interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, she is actively involved in hospital utilization management, working to improve efficiency while ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Garg finds great joy in mentoring medical students and residents, helping them grow into confident, capable physicians. She believes in fostering a supportive learning environment that emphasizes both knowledge and empathy.
Personal Note
Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family and finds happiness in community outreach, cooking, and reading. She is guided by the words of Sir William Osler: "The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease."
