Biography
Archana Dhar, M.D. is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric critical care, especially extracorporeal therapies such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
Dr. Dhar earned her medical degree at B.J. Medical College in Gujarat, India, where she also completed a residency in pediatrics. She completed an additional residency in pediatrics at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and gained advanced training in pediatric critical care through a fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008.
Dr. Dhar is the Medical Director of Transport for Children’s Health. She is a clinician educator and teaches the entire spectrum of trainees, from medical students to fellows. In addition, she conducts workshops and training courses to teach the basics of extracorporeal therapies to board-certified physicians.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
In 2020, Dr. Dhar was voted Best Pediatric Specialist by D Magazine. In 2022, she was included in D Magazine's Best Doctors list.
