Biography

Caroline Park, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in emergency general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. 

Dr. Park earned her medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston after completing a Master of Public Health degree at Columbia University in New York. She performed her residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and received advanced training in surgical critical care and trauma surgery through separate fellowships at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. She is board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

Dr. Park is the Associate Program Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship program. She conducts research and lectures on surgical critical care practices and outcomes in trauma patients. She has a special interest in surgical education, simulation, and integrating new technologies such as machine-learning and augmented reality to support active learning and improved patient care.
