Biography

Caryn VandenBerg, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric hospital medicine.

Dr. VandenBerg earned her medical degree at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Spectrum Health, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she served as Chief Resident. She gained advanced training in pediatric hospital medicine through a fellowship at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. VandenBerg is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics, including its Section on Hospital Medicine.

Her clinical interests include quality improvement, development of clinical care guidelines, and educating medical students, residents, and fellows. She has delivered numerous presentations related to her areas of expertise.
