Christian Larsen, M.D.

Biography
Christian Larsen, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in infections in transplant patients and other immunocompromised patients, with a focused interest in preventive infectious disease care and travel medicine in transplant patients, as well as nontuberculous mycobacterial infections.
Dr. Larsen earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he also received advanced training in infectious diseases through a fellowship in conjunction with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received additional training through a fellowship in transplant and immunocompromised host infectious diseases, during which he developed a clinical interest in the care of patients with complex mycobacterial infections.
In addition, Dr. Larsen holds a master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
Dr. Larsen is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Society of Transplantation, the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He has published several academic articles related to his areas of expertise. In 2016, he received the Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service.
