Biography

Claudio Ramaciotti, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His clinical interests include echocardiography and pediatric cardiology.

Dr. Ramaciotti earned his medical degree at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, followed by a residency in pediatrics at Hospital Federal dos Servidores do Estado. He gained advanced training through the completion of three fellowships – a clinical fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of London, a research fellowship in pediatric cardiography at UCSF School of Medicine, and a clinical fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric cardiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1996.

Dr. Ramaciotti is the Director of Pediatric Cardiology Imaging at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. He also serves on the Executive Committee for Quality, Safety, and Value at the Children’s Heart Center.

He is an ad hoc reviewer for Early Human Development, Circulation, and the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography and a member of the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Ramaciotti has delivered numerous lectures and published widely in his areas of research interest, which include diagnosis of congenital heart disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and ventricular function. His recent publications include a contribution to Echocardiography in Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease: From the Fetus to the Adult.

Dr. Ramaciotti has been included in D Magazine’s list of Best Pediatric Specialists 16 times and named a Texas Monthly Super Doctor.
