Cristina Thomas, M.D.

Biography

Cristina Thomas, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in complex medical dermatology, inpatient dermatology, and infectious skin diseases.

Dr. Thomas graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with a degree in biological sciences. She earned her medical degree also at Northwestern, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She then pursued residency training at Harvard Medical School, where she completed a combined residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and dermatology at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Program. In her final year of training, she served as administrative Chief Resident for the program.

Certified by the American Boards of Dermatology and Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Thomas’s clinical and research interests include complex medical dermatology and infectious disease-related dermatology. She has published in numerous medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and JAMA Dermatology.

Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Medical Dermatology Society, the Texas Dermatological Society, and the Dallas Dermatological Society.
