Biography

Daniel Sanders, M.S., LMFT, is an integrated behavioral health clinician in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in biopsychosocial approaches in primary care.

Mr. Sanders earned a Master of Science in couple, marriage, and family therapy at Texas Tech University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in human development and family studies at Utah State University.

Certified by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council as a licensed marriage and family therapist, he joined UT Southwestern in 2023.

Mr. Sanders works closely with primary care providers, adding his mental health expertise to their medical expertise to support whole-person care. He has training in various approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and Gottman Method couples therapy.

He has published academic articles in leading journals, including Contemporary Family Therapy, the American Journal of Family Therapy, and the International Journal of Systemic Therapy.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Mr. Sanders enjoys playing board games and reading fantasy novels.
