Biography

David M. Rodriguez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric emergency medicine.

Dr. Rodriguez earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center and gained advanced training through a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at UT Southwestern, where he served as Co-Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, Dr. Rodriguez joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013.

Dr. Rodriguez is the former Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Student Elective at UT Southwestern and currently serves on multiple committees, including the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Clinical Competency Committee and the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program Evaluation Committee.

He has given several lectures, both locally and nationally, and contributed to two books, including Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide.

In 2022, Dr. Rodriguez earned the Outstanding Junior Faculty Award from the UT Southwestern Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Rodriguez spends most of his time parenting his four children.
