Biography
David Wilson, M.P.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics in the School of Health Professions at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in lower extremity orthotic management.
Mr. Wilson earned his Master of Prosthetics-Orthotics at the School of Health Professions. He completed residencies in prosthetics and orthotics at UT Southwestern’s Prosthetics-Orthotics Program Clinic.
Certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics in prosthetics and orthotics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.
Mr. Wilson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He is also a member of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Texas Society of Orthotic and Prosthetic Professionals.
His research interests include ankle foot orthosis (AFO) stiffness and design for optimized gait, prepreg carbon composite AFOs, and lower extremity orthotic management. He has delivered invited lectures and presentations and has published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
In 2023, Mr. Wilson earned the School of Health Professions’ Clinical Excellence Award.

When he’s not at work, Mr. Wilson enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and hiking.
