Biography

Edward Kramer, D.O., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in complex neurologic, neuropsychiatric, sleep, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Kramer earned his medical degree at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in neurology at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. He received advanced training through an epilepsy fellowship at Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

Dr. Kramer’s clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia
  • Headaches
  • Epilepsy and seizures
  • Syncope and near syncope
  • Neuropsychiatric conditions, including pseudoseizures and other factitious disorders
  • Parkinson’s disease and other forms of Parkinsonism
  • Musculoskeletal conditions, for which he may perform osteopathic manipulative therapy where appropriate for neck, thoracic, and low back pain; pelvic and sacral pain; and shoulder pain Occipital nerve blocks and trigger point injections, when appropriate
  • Spinal conditions, including bulging and herniated discs, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, sciatica, and spinal stenosis
  • Restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movements, nocturnal myoclonus, and muscle cramps
  • Sleep disorders, including insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and parasomnias
  • Traumatic brain injury and concussion
  • Trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia

He previously served as medical director of Baptist Health Neurology in Arkansas and was the co-founder of the Tarrant County Spasticity Clinic in Texas. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Arkansas Medical Society, and the Texas Neurological Society.

Personal Note

In addition to being a neurologist and medical educator, Dr. Kramer is an award-winning actor, director, playwright, screenwriter, advertising copywriter, and broadcast producer. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing chess, and immersing himself in art, literature, music, and film.
