Biography
Elyse Miller, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, ventricular assist devices, and heart transplant.
Dr. Miller earned her medical degree and completed a pediatric residency and categorical cardiology fellowship training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. In addition, she gained advanced fellowship training in pediatric cardiomyopathy, heart failure, heart transplant, and mechanical circulatory support at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric cardiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.
In addition to her areas of clinical specialization, Dr. Miller has a strong interest in palliative care, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and cardio-oncology.
Dr. Miller is a member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the International Cardio-Oncology Society. She also serves as the Education Liaison for the Cardio-Oncology section of the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION).
She has delivered numerous presentations and published academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Miller enjoys cooking, baking, running, playing tennis, and traveling with her family.
