Biography

Emine Tunc, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics - Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Tunc earned her medical degree at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Turkey. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Washington.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Tunc is interested in pediatric sedation and is a member of the Society of Pediatric Sedation. She worked to develop safe sedation practices within the emergency department. Dr. Tunc also holds certifications in Quality Improvement and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She is working on ED throughput and improving sedation process.
