Biography

Fayruz Araji Villatoro, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center who specializes in pediatric sleep medicine and pulmonology.

Dr. Araji Villatoro earned her medical degree at Universidad Francisco Marroquín Faculty of Medicine in Guatemala City and completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of South Alabama. She then received advanced training through a pediatric pulmonology fellowship and a sleep medicine fellowship, both at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in sleep medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. Dr. Araji Villatoro has dedicated clinics for sleep disorders, general pulmonology, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Dr. Araji Villatoro is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

She says, "I have benefited from the teachings of great mentors, which inspired me to pursue academics and continue teaching. As one of my mentors says, 'Every interaction is an educational interaction,' and I strive to live by this."

Dr. Araji Villatoro enjoys working with ever-changing new knowledge and applying it to patient care.
