Biography
Folashade Afolabi, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in treating chronic cough, chronic lung disease, and cystic fibrosis.
Dr. Afolabi earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern and Children's Medical Center Dallas and then received advanced training in pulmonary medicine through a fellowship at UT Southwestern.
She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pulmonology.
Dr. Afolabi has published widely on pediatric lung issues, including home ventilator settings for children, probiotic aspiration pneumonia, and e-cigarettes and vaping.
She is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Personal Note
Dr. Afolabi grew up in Austin and New Orleans and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University.
