Biography

Haaris Beg, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in hospital medicine and internal medicine.

Dr. Beg earned his degree at the Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at New York University Langone Health.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Beg joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Beg is a member of multiple professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, the American Association of Physician Leadership, and the Society of Hospital Medicine, where he served on the Ethics Executive Council.

A former clinical investigator and research assistant, he has given multiple presentations on a wide range of subjects, including pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, and dermatopathology. He has also contributed to several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in his areas of expertise.

In 2022, Dr. Beg earned the Excellence in Inpatient Care Award from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Department of Medicine.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Beg pursues his interests in finance, government, and the intersection of technology and society. He also enjoys traveling, reading, and working out.
