Biography

Heidi T. Jacobe, M.D., M.S.C.S., is a Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Associate Dean for Clinical Research Development at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A board‑certified dermatologist, she focuses on education, research, and care related to sclerosing skin diseases, including morphea and systemic sclerosis.

Through her clinical work, research, and teaching, Dr. Jacobe has spent her career helping patients, families, and clinicians better understand complex and often misunderstood sclerosing skin disorders such as morphea and scleroderma. For this reason, she is considered an international expert in morphea, systemic sclerosis, and other sclerosing skin disorders and sees patients referred from all over the world.

Her research has centered on improving morphea assessment and advancing evidence‑based approaches to care as well as clinical trials in morphea and scleroderma.

In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Jacobe is deeply committed to mentorship, clinician development, and patient education. She believes that clear information, thoughtful questions, and realistic expectations can make a meaningful difference for people navigating complex diagnoses.
