Biography

Jacobo Santolaya, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric gastroenterology.

Dr. Santolaya earned his medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at UT Southwestern.

Board certified in general pediatrics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Santolaya's clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease in pediatric patients, autoimmune conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, and microbiome associations with intestinal inflammation. He also sees patients with various general gastroenterology disorders, including constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and nutritional deficiencies.

He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
