Biography

James Wilder, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in robotic surgery for gynecologic malignancies, ovarian malignancies, trophoblastic disease, vulvar disease, and hereditary gynecologic cancer syndromes.

Dr. Wilder earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina Health University Medical Center and received advanced training through a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Wilder is a member of the Bexar County Medical Society, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the International Society of Gynecologic Cancer, and the Texas Medical Association.

He has published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Dr. Wilder has been honored as a Texas Super Doctor every year since 2015.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Wilder enjoys hunting and exercising – especially hiking – and spending time with his three children.
