Biography

Jamie L. Morgan, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Division of Maternal‑Fetal Medicine. She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016 after completing her obstetrics and gynecology residency and maternal‑fetal medicine fellowship at UT Southwestern. Dr. Morgan earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish Literature from Swarthmore College and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Morgan cares for women with high‑risk and medically complex pregnancies. Her clinical interests include pregnancy complicated by medical conditions, obstetric critical care, and improving care and support during the postpartum period. She is deeply committed to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care and works closely with patients and their families to help achieve the best possible outcomes before, during, and after pregnancy.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Morgan is actively involved in improving maternal health and safety. She has authored more than 20 peer‑reviewed medical publications, speaks nationally on maternal health topics, and is the editor of an upcoming textbook focused on obstetrics and rheumatologic disease.

Dr. Morgan also serves in several leadership roles aimed at improving care for pregnant and postpartum patients. Since 2023, she has been the Maternal Medical Director at UT Southwestern's William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, a Level IV Maternal Center equipped to care for the most complex obstetric cases. She also helps lead statewide initiatives through TexasAIM, a program dedicated to reducing maternal complications and improving outcomes across Texas.

Dr. Morgan has been recognized for her clinical excellence, including being named a Texas Monthly Rising Star or Super Doctor every year since 2019, a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2021, and a D Magazine Best Doctor in 2024.

She is board-certified and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Personal Note

In her spare time, Dr. Morgan enjoys doing yoga, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
