Biography
Jennifer Thompson, M.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in general Ob/Gyn and obstetric hospital medicine.
Dr. Thompson earned her medical degree at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Ob/Gyn at UT Southwestern Medical Center, serving as Administrative Chief Resident.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.
Dr. Thompson is the past medical director of labor and delivery at Billings Clinic in Montana, where she also spearheaded the Obstetric Hospitalist Program.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
In 2023, Dr. Thompson earned the UT Southwestern Ob/Gyn Residency Program’s Peggy Whalen Medicus Award.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Thompson enjoys long-distance running and marathon training, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with her family.
