Biography
Jianyi Yin, M.D., Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) – in particular, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
Originally from China, Dr. Yin earned his medical and doctoral degrees at Nanjing Medical University. After completing a research fellowship in gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins University, he gained advanced training through an internal medicine residency and a gastroenterology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center as part of the Physician Scientist Training Program.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Yin joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.
Dr. Yin is a physician-scientist with research interests in basic and translational studies of IBD. His research aims to advance the understanding of IBD mechanisms and explore relevant clinical implications to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Yin is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Physician Scientists Association, and the American Physiological Society. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for multiple academic journals, has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his research at national conferences.
