Biography
Jiexin Wang, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of its Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. She specializes in medical management of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
Dr. Wang received her medical education at Zhejiang University School of Medicine in China. She then earned a doctorate in lipid metabolism from the University of California Los Angeles, where she conducted postdoctoral research in the Peter Tontonoz Lab. She completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she also gained advanced training through a fellowship in gastroenterology.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and gastroenterology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Wang's research interests include inflammatory bowel disease. She has published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
