Biography

Joanne Jacobs, APRN, PNP-PC, is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Children's Health. In her role as a member of the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery team, Mrs. Jacobs see's patients in the outpatient setting preoperatively to clear them for open heart surgery, and postoperatively to ensure the recovery is going as planned. She is also involved in the planning of the Annual Heart Center Picnic and has helped each year with camper check-in for Camp Moss, a camp for Children with congenital heart disease. Mrs. Jacobs completed her undergraduate degree in nursing from UT Austin in December 1997. She started her career as a PICU nurse at Children's Medical Center of Dallas in February 1998. In May 2003 Mrs. Jacobs completed her Master's degree, attending the Texas Woman's University Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. She has worked with the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Children's Medical Center of Dallas since 2003. Mrs. Jacobs is passionate about caring for children and families along their journey in the Heart Center.
