Biography

Jonathan Melendez Torres, M.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in internal medicine.

Dr. Melendez earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School. He’s completing a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern; he currently serves as Chief Resident.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Melendez conducts clinical research on hepatocellular carcinoma surveillance within UT Southwestern’s Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. He has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Melendez enjoys spending time with his wife and his two dogs, playing volleyball and pickleball, and exploring new restaurants.
