Biography
Joshua Wolovits, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves in the Division of Critical Care and is the Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Dr. Wolovits earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern, where he also completed a residency in pediatrics. He received advanced training in critical care through a fellowship at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, followed by further advanced fellowship training in cardiac critical care at UT Southwestern.
Dr. Wolovits’ clinical focus is on optimizing the safety and efficiency of the care of patients with critical heart disease. He is involved in a number of projects related to quality improvement, both locally and through national collaborative work.
At Children’s Medical Center, Dr. Wolovits is Co-Chair of the CPR Committee and a member of several other committees, both within the Heart Center and hospitalwide. He is active in many national organizations as well, including the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4) Quality Committee.
Dr. Wolovits serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. In addition to publishing numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, abstracts, and clinical practice guidelines in his areas of expertise, he has served as a section editor for the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Handbook.
Every year since 2015, Dr. Wolovits has been included in D Magazine’s list of Best Doctors in Pediatric Critical Care.
