Biography

Justin Zhao, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in emergency ultrasound and resident education.

Dr. Zhao earned his medical degree at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Northshore/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he also received advanced training in emergency ultrasound through a fellowship.

Certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Zhao joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

He is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

While completing his residency, Dr. Zhao authored the Guide to Clinical Ultrasound in Emergency Medicine for residents and faculty members at Northwell Health Emergency Medicine.
