Biography

Karina Miranda, M.S.N., APRN, WHNP, is a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Miranda completed her undergraduate degrees at Mountain View Community College and the University of Texas at Arlington. She then earned a Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, at Texas Woman's University.

She first joined the UT Southwestern OB/GYN team in 2016 as a staff nurse in the ambulatory clinic, where she cared for patients while simultaneously returning to school to complete her Master of Science in Nursing degree. She learned from and completed all of her clinical preceptorship hours with UT Southwestern OB/GYN faculty before stepping into her new role as an advanced practice provider in obstetrics and gynecology in 2023.

Her areas of focus are wellness and prevention for women across the lifespan, family planning and contraception, obstetrical care, and patient education. Ms. Miranda is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.
