Biography
Kathleen Costello, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric emergency medicine.
Dr. Costello earned her medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern/Children's Medical Center and received advanced training in pediatric emergency medicine through a fellowship at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.
In addition, she holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
Dr. Costello is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Emergency Medicine. In addition, she serves on committees focused on furthering initiatives against human trafficking, including the HEAL Trafficking Network.
Her research interests include adolescent sexual health as well as screening and education regarding child sex trafficking. She has delivered numerous lectures and presentations.
In 2019, Dr. Costello was awarded the Dell Children’s Trust Grant.
