Biography

Kristie R. Wilburn-Wren, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in obstetrics and benign gynecology, especially complex cesarean sections, tubal sterilization, and obstetric care for the underserved.

Dr. Wilburn-Wren earned her medical degree at East Tennessee State University. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2012.

Dr. Wilburn-Wren is Medical Director of Labor and Delivery Triage at Parkland Memorial Hospital and was Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She belongs to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and serves on several committees at UT Southwestern, including those for OB/GYN Peer Review, Perioperative Optimization, and OB/GYN Clinical Competency.

In 2018, she earned the Outstanding Services in Quality, Safety, and Patient Experience award at Parkland.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Wilburn-Wren enjoys cooking and watching cinema from Hollywood’s golden age.
