Biography

Lanna Felde, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Hospital Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her clinical interests include hospital best practices, social determinants of health, and medical education utilizing digital media.

Dr. Felde earned her medical degree and a concurrent master’s degree in public health at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

Dr. Felde is the Director of UTSW’s Hospital Medicine Elective for Internal Medicine Residents and Chair of the Communications Committee for the Division of Hospital Medicine. She also manages the Division’s Twitter handle.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Society of Hospital Medicine and is currently completing a fellowship in digital media with the Journal of Hospital Medicine. She was among the first cohort of hospitalists to champion the COVID response at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Felde’s research interests include hospital medicine curriculum development, inpatient management of alcoholic hepatitis, and inpatient management of alcohol withdrawal.

Personal Note

When she is not at work, Dr. Felde loves to exercise, cook, travel with her husband, and spend time with their son and miniature schnauzer.
