Biography

Ling Chu, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the William T. and Gay F. Solomon Division of General Internal Medicine. She serves as Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer.

Originally from Hong Kong, Dr. Chu earned her medical degree magna cum laude and completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Colorado in Aurora.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Preventive Medicine in clinical informatics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017. She specializes in ambulatory primary care with a clinical emphasis on patient- and family-centered care. 

Before joining UT Southwestern, she worked in a large HMO in Colorado for many years. She then went on to receive additional training in electronic health records.  

Drawn by the opportunity for the harmonious integration of clinical medicine, education, and advanced medical informatics, she brought to UT Southwestern years of experience in clinical adult primary care and informatics.

Personal Note

Dr. Chu’s interests outside of medicine include her family, cooking, reading, and the great outdoors.
