Biography

Mandy Horne, APRN, WHNP, is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Horne completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University, and then earned her Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner at the University of Cincinnati. She has been an advanced practice provider in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a focus on Gynecology since 2016. Her areas of focus are wellness and prevention for women across the lifespan, cervical cancer prevention, contraception, and patient education.

She is a member of the following professional societies: Sigma Theta Tau, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, the North American Menopause Society, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Association for Nursing Professional Development. She was awarded the Red Bud Award Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year in 2023 at Texas Woman's University, where she was a clinical assistant professor in the Women's Health NP program. Her research and writing areas of interest are: menstrual literacy, disparities and inequities in women's health, sex education, and sexual wellness.
