Biography

Mary Dang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Dang earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree at the Texas A&M University School of Medicine. She completed a pediatrics residency at Advocate Children’s Hospital in the Chicago area and a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Dang is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist with an interest in mitigating treatment-related complications and toxicities in children with hematologic diseases. Her research focuses on how the immune system and gut microbiome contribute to obesity and metabolic dysfunction during and after leukemia therapy, with the goal of developing targeted interventions and screening strategies that promote lifelong health in survivors. She also serves as Medical Director of the Children’s Health Cancer and Blood Disorders Family Camp.
