Biography

Mehgan Kidd, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She serves in the Division of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Kidd earned her medical degree at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center and received advanced training in pediatric infectious diseases through a fellowship at Emory University.

In addition, she holds a master’s degree in global medicine from the University of Southern California.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Kidd is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Transplantation, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS).

Her clinical and research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, SARS-CoV-2 vaccination, microbiome changes in pediatric stem cell transplantation, and infections associated with immunosuppressed hosts. She has shared results of her work broadly through numerous lectures, presentations, and academic articles.

Dr. Kidd currently serves on the national PIDS Pediatric Transplant Infectious Disease Education Subcommittee, promoting education to learners to better understand, treat, and prevent infections and their complications in children undergoing solid organ or stem cell transplantation.
