Biography
Mellissa Myers, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Children's Health. In her role as a member of the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery team, Mrs. Myers sees patients in the outpatient setting preoperatively to clear them for cardiothoracic surgery and postoperatively to ensure the recovery is going as planned. She also serves as the Director of Camp Moss, a camp for Children with congenital heart disease. Mrs. Myers serves on the planning of the Annual Heart Center Picnic which is an annual event to reconnect patients, parents, and campers. Mrs. Myers serves on many other hospital and committee based committees. Mrs. Myers completed her undergraduate degree in nursing from Texas Woman's University in May 1993. She started her career as a PACU nurse at Children's Medical Center of Dallas in January 1993. In December 1997, Mrs. Myers completed her Master's degree, attending the Texas Woman's University Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She has worked with the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Children's Health of Dallas since January 1998. Mrs. Myers is passionate about caring for children and families along their journey in the Heart Center.
