Biography

Michael Siah, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A board-certified vascular surgeon, he is the Director of Limb Salvage at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from New York University, Dr. Siah earned his medical degree at the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu. He completed a residency in vascular surgery at Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center and joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.

An active researcher, Dr. Siah is heavily involved in studying various topics, including peripheral arterial disease, critical limb-threatening ischemia, diabetic limb salvage, and deep venous disease.

He is currently involved in multiple clinical trials, serving as Principal Investigator in trials studying drug-coated balloons for the treatment of superficial femoral and tibial arterial occlusive disease, bioresorbable scaffolds for the treatment of tibial disease, novel deep vein arterialization strategies, pharmacologic drug delivery platforms, and deep venous stenting. He is the Global Principal Investigator for the REMODEL II Pivotal Study.

Dr. Siah has authored or co-authored multiple articles in leading publications and multiple book chapters in several textbooks. He has also presented his work at more than 100 international, national, regional, and local conferences and symposia, including the annual meetings of the Society for Vascular Surgery, Asian Society of Vascular Surgery, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), the Paris Vascular Interventional Course (PVI), VEITHsymposium, and the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC). He also serves as a reviewer for multiple vascular journals.

Dr. Siah is a member of the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) Global Society.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Siah enjoys spending time with his fiancée and their two dogs, as well as playing golf and tennis.
