Biography

Michelle Joyner, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC/PC, is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) in the department of Pediatric Pulmonology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Joyner completed her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008 and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a dual-focus in Primary Care and Acute Care Pediatrics from Duke University in 2012. She later returned to advance her education by obtaining a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University in 2016. Dr. Joyner has worked in pediatric pulmonology since 2012, both as an advanced practice provider and team leader. She was the principal investigator of a mechanical ventilator quality improvement project that was later published in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care in 2016, entitled "Structured Documentation of Home Ventilator Settings: A Quality Improvement Project."
