Biography

Muraleedharan Sivarajan, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in general pediatrics with an interest in newborn medicine.

Dr. Sivarajan earned his medical degree at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York. He completed other postgraduate training in pediatrics at several medical colleges in India. He also trained as a pediatric hospitalist and a neonatologist and worked at a number of hospitals within the British medical postgraduate training system.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010.

Dr. Sivarajan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a lifetime member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.

He currently serves as the point person for the Fetal Anomaly Center for the Newborn Nursery at Parkland Memorial Hospital and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

Dr. Sivarajan’s interests include quality improvement projects and teaching clinical skills. He has delivered presentations and published original research articles related to his areas of expertise. He is also a neonatal resuscitation instructor.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Sivarajan enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, reading, listening to music, practicing holistic and alternative medicine, volunteering, meditating, and studying theology.
