Biography

Nicholas Bartel, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Bartel earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine and received advanced training through a pediatric critical care fellowship at UT Southwestern.

He also received a master’s degree in public health at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric critical care medicine and by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Bartel is the Program Lead for the Primary Intensivist Program at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
